Melanie Higgins

Melanie Higgins is an experienced library professional currently serving as the Special Projects Coordinator for Lifelong Learning at the Orange County Library System since July 2004. In this role, Melanie coordinates large system-wide projects, collaborates with various department managers and personnel, and works with vendors to improve project outcomes in alignment with strategic plans. Previous positions at the same organization include Main Reference Librarian, where responsibilities included providing reference services and creating instructional materials, Branch Customer Service Lead, focusing on customer service excellence and staff training, and Technology and Customer Service Specialist, teaching computer and Microsoft Office courses. Prior to this, Melanie worked as a Textbook Supervisor at Barnes & Noble College Booksellers, managing book orders and vendor relationships. Melanie holds a Master's degree in Library Science from the University of South Florida and a degree in Film and Mass Communication from the University of Central Florida.
