John Hallberg

John Hallberg is an experienced saxophone instructor with a diverse teaching background at various educational institutions. Currently serving as an Instructor of Saxophone at Irvine Valley College, John also holds a position as a Lecturer of Music at California State University, Fullerton, where responsibilities include instructing applied saxophone lessons, coaching quartets, and organizing master classes. Additionally, John teaches saxophone at the Colburn School and directs the Saxophone Ensemble at the Orange County School of the Arts. With a private teaching practice since 2006, John specializes in classical saxophone repertoire. John’s advanced degrees in Saxophone Performance from the University of Southern California, the University of Iowa, and California State University, Long Beach reflect a strong academic foundation complemented by active participation in workshops and conferences related to saxophone performance and education.
