Han Gu has extensive experience in the field of chemical engineering, specializing in water treatment systems. Currently serving as a Scientist/Process Specialist at the Orange County Water District since January 2017, Han has a strong background that includes significant roles at the Water Technology Research (WaTeR) Center at UCLA, where projects involved the development of advanced smart membrane-based water treatment systems and automation of desalination pilot systems. As a Teaching Fellow at UCLA's Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, Han taught upper division and graduate courses, designed laboratory experiments, and mentored undergraduate students. Previous volunteer research roles included conducting field pilot testing at the Seawater Desalination Test Facility and demonstrating integrated membrane systems for industrial wastewater treatment. Han Gu holds a PhD, MS, and BS in Chemical Engineering from UCLA, completing the doctoral degree in 2016.
