Toby Fares

Toby FARES is an experienced professional in the nuclear industry, currently serving as the Directeur contrats et clients and Project Manager at Orano since July 2011, specializing in the development of casks for the transportation of nuclear waste. Responsibilities include managing project contracts, budgets, schedules, and quality systems, as well as assessing project risks and supporting procurement strategies. Prior to this role, Toby was an R&D Project Manager in the Recycling Operations division at Areva, focusing on nuclear waste management and process development. Toby began a career as an R&D engineer and PhD student at the French Atomic Energy Commission, studying helium behavior in high-level waste containment glasses. Early experience includes a trainee position in medical physics at the European Radiation Synchrotron Facility. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Montpellier II and a master's degree in various physics disciplines. Toby completed a Master en administration des affaires from ESSEC Executive Education in September 2023.
