Ron Knighton

Ron Knighton has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Ron began their career as a Technician in the US Army from May 1990 to July 1994. Following this, they ventured into entrepreneurship and founded Blessed Blends Coffee, Inc in September 2008, where they served as an Owner/Partner for a year. In 2005, they established Family Friendly Investments, LLC, an investment firm specializing in real estate and later expanding into internet marketing and sales of fitness equipment. Ron held the position of Owner in this company until 2012.

In 2017, Ron gained further professional development by interning as a .Net Full-Stack Intern at Coder Foundry. This experience built the foundation for a flourishing career in software development as they took on freelance roles as a Software Developer at Provestment, LLC from September 2017 and later joined Orasi, Inc as a Software Developer in April 2019. At Orasi Software, Ron's responsibilities included performing data analysis using Python, Alteryx, and Power BI, as well as building Web APIs, desktop UIs, and web scrapers.

Ron's expertise in software development continued to grow as they joined Allegacy Federal Credit Union in March 2020 as an Application Developer III, where they utilized their skills to contribute to the organization's development projects. Ron then worked as a Contract Software Developer at ettain group from March 2020 before transitioning to their current role as a Contract Software Engineer at Apex Systems since October 2021.

Ron Knighton has a diverse education history. Ron attended Coder Foundry for software development training. In 1990 to 1991, they participated in US Army Electronics Training and received an honor graduate degree in Electronic Warfare. From 2016 to 2020, Ron studied Information Systems Management at the University of Maryland Global Campus. Ron also pursued a bachelor's degree in software development at DeVry Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, Ron obtained a certification in Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Power BI from edX in November 2012.
