Siobhán Hannon

Siobhán Hannon has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. In 2006, they began their career as a Geography Teacher at The John Roan School, and later worked as a KS2 Teacher and IPC Coordinator at St Matthew Academy from 2008 to 2011. Siobhán then transitioned to Discovery Primary School, where they served as a Class Teacher and Literacy Coordinator from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, Siobhán pursued their MSc studies at NUI Galway, before joining JRI America Inc. as a QA Engineer from 2015 to 2016. Siobhán then moved on to Thermo King, where they held the roles of Scrum Master/QA Test Engineer and later Project Manager for Connected Solutions from 2016 to 2020. In 2020, Siobhán joined Ericsson as a Scrum Master, contributing to the successful implementation of agile practices and collaboration within scrum teams. Currently, Siobhán is working at ORBCOMM, where they have held various positions including Scrum Master, Software Engineering Manager, and their current role as Director of Software Engineering, starting in April 2023.

Siobhán Hannon began their education journey in 2000 at Calasanctius College, Oranmore, Galway, where they obtained their Leaving Certificate in 2002. Siobhán then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Legal Science & Geography from N.U.I., Galway, completing their studies in 2005. In 2006, Siobhán pursued a PostGraduate Certificate in Education at St Mary's University College, University of Surrey, which they successfully completed in 2007.

Siobhán's pursuit of knowledge in the field of Information Systems Management led their to enroll at the National University of Ireland, Galway, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Systems Management in 2015. Additionally, Siobhán obtained certifications to further enhance their skills and knowledge. In August 2015, they became ISTQB Certified Software Tester - Foundation Level after completing the certification program offered by ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board. In April 2020, they obtained the Certified Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance.
