Kurt Janssen

Kurt Janssen is a seasoned professional in the geospatial field, currently serving as the Geospatial Platform & Delivery Manager at Orion NZ Ltd, where the focus is on leading the design and implementation of a modern geospatial platform. As the Founding Director of Orbica since 2017, Kurt has provided governance and strategic guidance, pioneering the company to success with a multi-million-dollar revenue stream. Kurt also directed the spin-out of OrbViz as a standalone SaaS company and has held various influential roles in prior organizations, including interpret Geospatial Solutions Manager at Abley, Product Engineer at Esri, and Advisor roles at the Ministry for the Environment and Ministry of Health. Holding a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geography, GIS, and Geology from the University of Canterbury, Kurt's extensive experience encompasses advanced GIS modelling, team leadership, and the successful development of geospatial capabilities across multiple sectors.
