Jay Keasling

Jay Keasling is a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and the chief executive officer of the Joint BioEnergy Institute. Jay is also a senior faculty scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Jay has been a faculty member at UC Berkeley for 30 years, and they have been CEO of JBEI for 14 years 9 months. Jay has been a senior faculty scientist at LBNL for 29 years 11 months.

Jay Keasling received their PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1991 and their Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1986. Jay then went on to do a postdoc in Biochemistry at Stanford University School of Medicine from 1991-1992.
