Ron Shigeta

Advisor at Orbillion Bio

Ron Shigeta is a Japanese-American business advisor and investor who has worked in the field of innovative healthcare for over 20 years. Ron is currently an advisor at Orbillion Bio, a company that focuses on developing new treatments for rare diseases. Prior to their work at Orbillion Bio, Shigeta was an investor and product development consultant at Clara Foods, where they helped develop new products made from plant-based proteins. Ron also co-founded IndieBio, the world’s first Synthetic Biology accelerator, which funded more than 70 biotech companies in just three years.

Ron Shigeta earned their PhD in Chemistry from Princeton University. Ron then took a class in Machine Learning at HackerDojo. After that, they did a post doc in protein structure, crystallography, and protein families at Harvard Medical School. Finally, they did some postdoctoral research in Polyketide Biosynthesis at Stanford University.
