Matthew Beals is a Graduate Research Assistant at Michigan Technological University since July 2022, focusing on passive noise control methods in hydraulic environments for a Caterpillar Masters Research Thesis. Responsibilities include designing and building an impedance tube to analyze the attenuation properties of various acoustic elements, with data processing managed through Siemens LMS Testlab and custom MATLAB code. Matthew has also worked as an Engineering Intern at Orbion Space Technology since November 2021, led the Attitude Determination and Control Project for Michigan Tech Aerospace Enterprise from August 2020 to April 2022, and served as a System Engineering Intern at GHSP during the summer of 2021. Matthew holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, obtained in April 2023, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, completed in 2022.
