Michael "Buz" Waitzkin began their education at the University of Virginia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Political Philosophy from 1967 to 1971. Following this, they attended Stanford Law School from 1971 to 1974, earning their Juris Doctor degree. After completing their legal studies, Waitzkin furthered their education at Yale Law School in 1974-1975, where they were a Commonwealth Fellow in Law, Science, and Medicine, obtaining a Master of Laws degree.
