James Melkon Smith

James Melkon Smith is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in embedded systems and software development. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Auria Space since June 2021, James previously worked at United Launch Alliance (ULA) from April 2016 to June 2021, where responsibilities included developing modeling software for real-time rocket simulations and leading test harness software design for the Vulcan rocket. Prior to ULA, James held roles at Etymotic Research, contributing to audiological devices and acoustic modeling, as well as serving as a Research Assistant at Arizona State University. James also operated as a freelance software engineer at Orange Fox Programming and Engineering Consulting. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Computer Science and two Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Engineering Technology and Electronics Engineering Technology, all from Arizona State University and DeVry University.
