VP of Engineering Design at Orbital Assembly

Eric Ward has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Eric currently holds the position of VP of Engineering Design at Orbital Assembly Corporation since September 2020. Prior to that, Eric worked as a Technical Advisor in Engineering & Software Architecture at Berkelyn starting from June 2019.

Eric's previous experiences include being the Mechanical Design Lead and Industry Mentor at Portland State Aerospace Society, where they advised senior Mechanical Engineering capstone projects and contributed to the development of control systems for rockets.

In 2016, Eric co-founded and served as the CEO of both Aten Engineering Inc and Odyne Space, with a focus on technical solutions for asteroid detection and in-space resource extraction, as well as providing micro-launch services for entrepreneurs in the space industry.

As a Graduate Student Intern at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2015, Eric conducted research on the design process and provided recommendations for improved process management. Eric also gained experience as a Graduate Student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2014 to 2016.

Before that, Eric worked as a Product Design Consultant at Phelion, providing design and development plans for various clients, and as a Product Engineer II at Acumed, where they researched and created product designs. Eric started their career at Bayer HealthCare as a Product and Process Engineer, where they designed automated sensor insertion mechanisms for biosensors.

Throughout their career, Eric has demonstrated expertise in engineering design, system analysis, and process optimization.

Eric Ward attended the University of Washington from 2003 to 2005, although no degree or field of study was mentioned. Later, they pursued a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University from 2005 to 2007. Eric then went on to complete a Master's Degree in Systems Design and Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2016.
