Dr Richard Kilpatrick (CMVP)

Dr. Richard Kilpatrick (CMVP) is an accomplished electrical engineer with extensive experience in the renewable energy sector. Currently serving as an Electrical Engineer at Orbital Marine Power Ltd since August 2022, Richard previously held similar roles at the European Marine Energy Centre from March 2019 to August 2022, and at The University of Edinburgh from February 2017 to February 2019. Prior to these positions, Richard worked as an Energy and Water Officer for the City of Edinburgh Council, a Consulting Engineer at Green Energy Partners, and conducted research on Carbon Reduction Commitments at Heriot-Watt University. Richard's early career includes significant contributions as a PhD Research Student at Heriot-Watt University and as a volunteer engineer with Civix Eevee. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Energy Data Analysis, an MSc in Renewable Energy and Distributed Generation, and a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, all obtained from Heriot-Watt University.
