Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Orbital Sidekick

Connor McCurley, PhD's work experience begins in 2014 when they served as the Vice President of Scholarship for Sigma Phi Epsilon. In 2015 and 2016, they held engineering intern positions at OGE Energy Corp in the fields of Distribution Engineering and System Protection and Controls Engineering. In 2017, they started working at the University of Florida as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Machine Learning and Sensing Lab. During their time there, they conducted research on topics such as multi-sensor fusion for buried object detection and target recognition using imprecise and uncertain data. Connor also served as a Supervised Teacher and Assistant Grant Writer, and eventually became a Graduate Mentor in 2020, where they led and directed undergraduate and graduate students in research projects. Their most recent work experience is as a Machine Learning Scientist at Orbital Sidekick starting in 2022.

Connor McCurley, PhD, completed their education in electrical engineering and computer science. Connor received their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 2017. Prior to that, they attended Missouri University of Science and Technology from 2013 to 2014. Connor's academic journey concluded at the University of Florida, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition in 2022.
