Scott Werneke

Scott Werneke, PhD, currently serves as Associate Director of Clinical Science at Orca Bio since August 2023. Previously, Werneke held positions at Gilead Sciences as Sr Associate Director of Clinical Development, leading clinical efforts on Phase 2 colorectal cancer studies and a Phase 3 study in acute myeloid leukemia. Prior experience includes Associate Director of Clinical Science at Exelixis, where Werneke led early phase development of combination therapies and contributed to clinical trial documentation. Additional roles at Tecan Genomics, Genentech, and Institut Pasteur involved project management, scientific research, and implementation of novel technologies. Werneke earned a Ph.D. in Immunology from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.S. in Biochemistry from Ithaca College.
