Jonah van Sluijs has a varied work experience in different fields. In 2017, they worked as an Architectural Intern at Populous for one month. In 2018, they became an Associate at the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and a Member at The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science, and Technology (IMarEST). In 2019, they briefly worked as a Lead Waiter at Ascot Racecourse. In 2022, Jonah took on the role of a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer at VIP Diving and later joined Orcan Energy AG as a Marine Sales and Business Development Manager.

Jonah van Sluijs completed their Bachelor's degree in BEng (Hons) Yacht Design and Production in the field of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Solent University. Jonah studied at Solent University from 2018 to 2022.

Before attending Solent University, Jonah attended UWC South East Asia from 2016 to 2018. Jonah obtained their International Baccalaureate degree during this period.

In addition to their formal education, Jonah has obtained several certifications. These include being a Master Scuba Diver Trainer from PADI, which they obtained in November 2022. Jonah is also a Tec Deep Diver, certified by PADI in October 2022. Jonah is an Emergency First Responder Instructor, having obtained a certification from Emergency First Response in August 2022. Furthermore, they hold the CWO Kielboot 1, 2, 3 certification from Surfschool Veerse Dam, which they obtained in June 2014.
