Marcel Flipse

Marcel Flipse has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and industries. Marcel currently holds the position of Head of Global Marine Applications at Orcan Energy AG, a leading CleanTech company specializing in energy solutions. Marcel joined Orcan Energy AG in 2016 and has been instrumental in the company's growth and expansion into new markets, particularly in Asia through a joint venture with VPower Group International Holdings LTD and CITIC Pacific Ltd.

Before their role at Orcan Energy AG, Marcel served as the Managing Director and Owner of H2P (Heat To Power), starting in January 2016. Prior to that, they were an Advisor to the Board of Directors at Etergo from 2015 to 2020.

Marcel's previous roles include serving as the Managing Director at Van Halteren Special Products B.V., where they oversaw various technical services and engineering projects related to AC systems, aircraft support equipment, and engines for military armored vehicles. Marcel held this position from July 2013 to January 2016.

Marcel has also held several leadership positions at Voith Turbo, starting in 2003. These roles include Vice President Marine Services, Managing Director/Executive Vice President, and Vice President. At Voith Turbo, Marcel was responsible for managing the marine business in Benelux, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, overseeing profit and loss, business development, marketing and sales, and marine service departments.

Earlier in their career, Marcel worked at Cummins Inc. as a Sales Manager Marine from 1992 to 2003 and at Fokker Aircraft as a Powerplant & Systems Engineer/Technical Account Manager. Marcel was responsible for technical product and service support for the Fokker 100 aircraft and served as a Sales Desk Manager for Fokker Services in Europe.

Marcel started their career as a Marine Engineer (Naval Officer) at Shell in 1980 before moving on to become the Manager of the Production Test Department at Isotta Fraschini Motori s.p.a. from 1983 to 1985.
