Software Engineer at Orchid

Ben Podgursky has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology industry. Starting in 2008, they worked at Vanderbilt University as a Programmer in the Teachable Agents Group and as a VUSRP Undergraduate Research Fellow. In these roles, they contributed to the development of computer tutoring systems and planning and scheduling systems.

From 2010 to 2012, Ben worked at Rapleaf as a Software Development Intern and later as a Software Engineer. Ben focused on researching and implementing data anonymization algorithms while preserving targetable information.

In 2012, Ben joined LiveRamp as a Software Engineer - Big Data Infrastructure and eventually became an Engineering Lead for the Big Data Infrastructure team. Ben played a crucial role in migrating LiveRamp's Hadoop environment to Google Cloud Platform, saving significant compute costs. Ben also led the development of Workflow2, LiveRamp's primary data processing pipeline engine, and scaled their Hadoop environment over six years.

In 2019, Ben co-founded CloudWright, where they focused on high-powered product automation using Python. Ben concentrated on removing obstacles such as password management, 3rd-party API integrations, scaling, and deploying to facilitate idea implementation.

Ben continued their career at Datavant in 2020, initially as a Senior Software Engineer and later as a Software Engineering Team Lead. Ben demonstrated their leadership and technical skills in managing and leading a team in software engineering.

Currently, Ben holds the position of Head of Engineering at Orchid, starting in 2022. With their extensive experience and leadership skills, Ben is well-positioned in their role to contribute to Orchid's engineering team.

Ben Podgursky attended Vanderbilt University from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science. Ben then pursued further education at the same institution, completing their Masters degree in Computer Science during the same period.
