Miguel Ricou is a highly experienced clinical psychologist and academic with a substantial background in ethics and mental health. Currently serving as a member of the National Council of Ethics for the Life Sciences, the Mental Health National Council, and the Health National Council, Miguel Ricou is also the President of the specialty committee for clinical and health psychology and the ethics committee at the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses. As a licensed clinical psychologist, Miguel Ricou operates a private practice while maintaining roles as a Doctoral Researcher at CINTESIS and an Assistant Professor at both Universidade do Porto and Universidade Portucalense, where teachings encompass bioethics, palliative care, psychology, psychopathology, and ethics. Miguel Ricou holds a Doctor of Psychology degree from the University of Coimbra, a Licentiate degree in Psychology from the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde-Norte, and a Master's degree in Bioethics from Porto University. Previous experience includes a managerial role at Sanare and serving as President of the Jurisdictional Council for the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses.
