Ian James

Head Of Technology Architecture at Ordnance Survey

Ian James has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology and architecture field. Ian began their career as a Cartographic Draughtsman at Ordnance Survey in 1984 and worked their way up through various roles including Developer, Senior Consultant, and Principal Consultant. In 2008, they became the Chief Architect and served in that role until 2015 when they transitioned to the position of Principal Architect. Most recently, Ian has served as the Head of Technology Architecture at Ordnance Survey since April 2020. Additionally, they worked at Defra as the UK Location Programme Technical Architect from 2011 to 2013.

Ian James attended Solent University from 1989 to 1992, where they obtained an HND degree in Computer Studies.
