Tom Peterken is a Data Scientist at Ordnance Survey since September 2020, specializing in Transport and multi-modal routing within the Data Science & Analytics team. Prior to this role, Tom was a Graduate in data science, contributing to public sector geospatial projects and gaining experience with vector and raster data. Tom undertook a three-month secondment at the Department of Health and Social Care, providing geospatial support to the Joint Biosecurity Centre during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tom holds a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Nottingham, where significant research included novel analysis techniques for spiral galaxies and the development of Python tools for multidimensional data visualization. Tom has also managed a major public engagement project within the department and served as a postgraduate representative in the astronomy group.
