Alex Zielinski is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in city politics and news reporting. Currently serving as a City Politics Reporter/Producer at OPB since January 2023, Zielinski previously held the position of News Editor at Portland Mercury from March 2018 to January 2023. Prior roles include News Editor and News Reporter at San Antonio Current, Health Reporter at ThinkProgress, and Editorial Fellow at The Atlantic. Zielinski's early career featured freelance reporting for various publications, including Street Roots and Portland Monthly, alongside internships at Metro and Eugene Weekly. A graduate of the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Zielinski has a strong foundation in news reporting cultivated since 2010.
