Dan Whitinger

Dan Whitinger has extensive work experience in technology and information management. Dan started their career at Hewlett Packard in manufacturing, where they worked from 1995 to 2000. Dan then moved on to Atipa Technologies as a Web Developer in 2000, followed by a role as Managing Director at NW Advanced Marketing LLC from 2000 to 2006. Dan joined the West Linn Wilsonville School District in 2006, initially as a Software Engineer and later as an Associate Director of Technology until 2012. Dan then transitioned to the OSU Foundation, where they held various roles including Director of Information Technology Services, Senior Director of Information Technology Services, and Senior Director of Technology Services & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In their role at the OSU Foundation, Dan focused on areas such as information security, enterprise infrastructure, fiscal and budgetary planning, and team building. Throughout their career, they have also been an active participant in industry events and has published a paper on engaging alumni to increase charitable donations to universities.

Dan Whitinger completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Oregon State University in 2006. Dan then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon, which they completed in 2016.
