Kristin Watkins has a diverse work experience that spans over several roles and companies. Kristin started their career in 1992 as a Program Associate at Wider Opportunities for Women, where they eventually became the Senior Director for Workforce Development. Kristin also served as the National Nontraditional Employment Training Coordinator, managing WOW's national project and providing technical assistance to various organizations.
In 1997, Kristin worked as an Independent Consultant before joining Portland Community College in 1998. At PCC, they held multiple positions, including Workforce Development Manager and Director of Grant Development. Kristin eventually became the Associate Vice President for College Advancement and Executive Officer of the PCC Foundation, where they led marketing, philanthropy, government affairs, and community relations efforts.
In 2014, Kristin joined the Oregon State University Foundation as the Associate Vice President for Development. Kristin later became the Associate Vice President for the Portland Center and eventually assumed the role of Vice President, Donor Engagement and Chief Marketing Officer in February 2020.
Kristin Watkins is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree at Oregon State University, with an expected completion date in 2024. Kristin previously obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Social Policy, Economic and Community Development from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in International Studies at Virginia Tech. Additionally, Kristin has obtained a certification from the Institute for Management and Leadership in Education, offered by the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
