Paul Ries, Ed.D., currently serves as the Director and Senior Instructor for the Graduate Certificate in Urban Forestry at Oregon State University, a program that Paul developed to offer an innovative online education in urban forestry. With extensive experience in the field, Paul has held various roles, including Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee, Principal Consultant for Insightful Nature LLC, and Core Leadership Team Member at the Green Communities Leadership Institute. Paul previously served as the Urban & Community Forestry Program Manager for the Oregon Department of Forestry and has been involved with the International Society of Arboriculture, where Paul completed a seven-year term, including a presidency. Paul has contributed to multiple educational initiatives and training programs, emphasizing natural resource management and urban forestry leadership, backed by academic credentials including a Doctor of Education from Carson-Newman University and a Master’s degree in Natural Resources from The Ohio State University.
