Zack Barnett

Zack Barnett currently serves as the Senior Advisor for Executive Communications at Oregon State University, a role focused on positioning the university's leadership as thought leaders in areas such as inclusive excellence and equitable student access. Previously, Barnett held various senior positions at the University of Oregon, including Assistant Vice President of Digital Strategy and Communications, where the emphasis was on transforming the university into a digital-first entity. Experience also includes strategic communications for significant initiatives such as the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact, and leading marketing communications efforts for the university's branded properties. Earlier career experiences encompass teaching English in Ukraine with the Peace Corps, working as a staff writer at The Daily Sentinel of Grand Junction, and participating in a journalism fellowship at The Indianapolis Star. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Narrative Journalism from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Communication from Pacific University.
