Sharon Glaeser

Sharon Glaeser is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in animal welfare, conservation, and technical writing. Currently serving as Visiting Faculty at Miami University since May 2022, Sharon has a longstanding role at Oregon Zoo since 2006, holding various positions including Animal Keeper for polar bears, Conservation Program Assistant, Elephant Welfare and Conservation Coordinator for Borneo, Research Associate, and Endocrine Research Technician. Prior to this, roles included Senior Technical Writer and Project Manager at Insitu, Inc., and Technical Writer at Synopsys. Sharon also operated as the Owner/Independent Contract Writer at Rogue Technology, Inc., and worked as Senior Technical Writer during a transition period at IBM. Academic credentials include a PhD in Animal Welfare and Conservation Science, a Master of Science in Biology, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
