David Michelson

David Michelson has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the publishing industry. David currently works at O'Reilly Media as the Senior Content Acquisitions Editor for Business and Professional Skills. In this role, they are responsible for managing and acquiring content such as books, reports, videos, and online trainings.

Prior to O'Reilly Media, David worked at Artech House as a Senior Acquisitions Editor, where they led acquisitions for book series related to radar and electronic warfare, antennas and propagation, GNSS technologies, information security and privacy, microwave engineering, mobile communications, photonics, power engineering, and technology and project management. David successfully acquired practical books from industry authors and was responsible for acquiring the most profitable books published from 2019 to 2022.

Before Artech House, David worked at Academic Studies Press as an Acquisitions Editor, where they developed and acquired titles in book series focused on Jewish studies, Middle Eastern studies, and evolutionary studies. David also initiated the press's first three peer-reviewed journals, managing concept development, market research, hiring editors, budgeting, and setting up journal websites.

David also has experience working as an Itinerant Adjunct Professor at multiple schools from 2013 to 2014, where they taught various courses. David served as the Executive Editor at The Evolutionary Review from 2011 to 2013. Additionally, David worked at Binghamton University as a Graduate Student and Instructor in the Department of English, General Literature, and Rhetoric. David served as a teaching assistant and instructor of record for self-designed courses, and also taught in the Educational Opportunity Program during summers.

David Michelson earned a Bachelor's degree in English and Classics, with a double major, from Knox College from 1999 to 2003. David then went on to pursue a Master's degree in English at Binghamton University, which they completed from 2004 to 2006. Continuing their educational journey, David completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in English and Evolutionary Studies at Binghamton University from 2007 to 2012.
