Kevin Graves

Kevin Graves has over 20 years of experience in software development and web application development. Kevin is currently working as an Engineering Manager at O'Reilly Media. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at O'Reilly Media from October 2018 to April 2022.

Before joining O'Reilly Media, Kevin was employed at Digital First Media as a Lead Software Developer from October 2015 to October 2018. In this role, they led a team focused on implementing Salesforce across the company and integrating legacy systems. Kevin also developed solutions in Amazon Web Services using Python, Node.js, and various AWS services.

From 2011 to 2015, Kevin worked at The Denver Post, first as a Senior Software Developer and then as an Application Developer. In these roles, they played a key role in the rollout of the CMS and designed Django applications for corporate projects. Kevin also streamlined the code release process and developed applications for newsroom functions.

Kevin started their career at Greenspun Media Group as a Software Developer from April 2009 to March 2011. Kevin was responsible for full-stack development on lasvegassun.com and lasvegasweekly.com.

Prior to that, they worked at Rocky Mountain News from May 2006 to March 2009 as a Web Application Developer. In this role, they led the website redesign and implemented the Ellington CMS. Kevin also developed applications that significantly increased web traffic.

Kevin's earlier experience includes working as a Web Application Developer at University of Colorado Boulder in 2006 and as a Web Systems Technician at National Jewish Health from 2001 to 2005. Kevin also worked as a Data Support Specialist at National Jewish Health from 1997 to 2000, providing support for campus computers and networking equipment.

Kevin Graves attended Colorado State University but did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study. In addition to their education at the university, they have obtained several certifications. In July 2018, Kevin became Scrum Fundamentals Certified through SCRUMstudy, which is the Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile. Kevin also obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in March 2018.
