Melissa Potter has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Melissa began their career as a Writer/Editor at the Barrington Land Conservation Trust from July 2007 to February 2009, where they designed and edited the quarterly newsletter, composed articles, and coordinated printing.

From July 2008 to June 2010, Melissa worked at Jones & Bartlett Learning, starting as an Editorial Assistant before moving on to become an Associate Editor. In these roles, they prepared Math and Computer Science manuscripts for production, served as the main contact with various departments, and provided guidance to authors on contracts and manuscript preparation.

In 2010, Melissa joined Pearson as a Development Editor/Project Manager. Their responsibilities included managing the development and production of over 200 custom Higher Education titles annually, collaborating with authors and internal staff, and assessing projects for various aspects such as pedagogical value and formatting.

Their time at Pearson also included a role as a Sales Operations Analyst (LSA) from January 2014 to August 2018. In this position, Melissa facilitated custom solutions for three sales districts, strategically increasing custom revenue in territories valued at over $30 million in 2017.
