Alistair Swanepoel

Alistair Swanepoel has extensive work experience in the risk and compliance field. Alistair is currently serving as the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at Orenda Financial Solutions since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked at HSBC for a significant portion of their career, holding multiple roles. Some of their notable positions at HSBC include Head of Risk Strategy, Oversight, and Reporting, Compliance ASP, Head of Governance and Reporting, FCC Asia Pacific, and Global Head of Financial Crime Compliance Reporting. Alistair also worked at Lloyds Banking Group as a Senior Manager in the Wholesale Independent Credit Risk Control Unit (ICRCU). Alistair began their professional journey at Nedbank, where they held various roles such as Head of Risk and Capital Analytics and Head of Capital Measurement, Adequacy & Planning. Alistair has a strong background in risk management, compliance, and financial analysis.

Alistair Swanepoel has passed the Level 1, 2, and 3 exams for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. Alistair also completed an Honours degree in Advanced Mathematics of Finance from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the same university between 1996 and 1999.
