Carolyn Browne

Director, Verification Division at OPCW

Carolyn Browne is the Director of the Verification Division at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) since January 2019, focusing on fostering a world free of chemical weapons. Prior to this role, Carolyn held significant positions at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, including Senior Adviser and HM Ambassador to Astana and Baku, as well as serving in key roles in Brussels, New York, and Moscow. Carolyn's extensive experience in international diplomacy is supported by a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bacterial Genetics from the Universities of Bristol and Oxford (Linacre College).
