Julissa Larios is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in education, research, and administrative support. Currently serving as the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Academic Programs at the Organization for Tropical Studies since May 2023, Julissa previously held various roles including Educational Department Intern, where significant contributions included creating engaging field guides and collaborating on educational initiatives. As President and translator for Boundless Brilliance, Julissa developed and executed presentation curriculums while training other leaders, and also facilitated community events. With a strong foundation in research gained through experiences at Occidental College and internships such as a Research Intern at NSURP, Julissa possesses a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Occidental College, further bolstered by leadership roles and innovative projects in community engagement and education.

Organization for Tropical Studies
The Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS) is a nonprofit consortium of over fifty universities, colleges, and research institutions from around the world. OTS was founded in 1963 with a mission “to provide leadership in education, research, and the responsible use of natural resources in the tropics.” To this end, OTS offers intensive field courses for undergraduates, graduate students, and natural resource professionals in tropical biology and related disciplines in Costa Rica and South Africa, facilitates research, participates in tropical forest conservation, maintains three biological stations in Costa Rica and conducts environmental education programs.
