Mauricio Cerna Rivera

Mauricio Cerna Rivera is a seasoned professional specializing in water governance, climate migration, and indigenous rights, with extensive experience in consultancy roles for various organizations. Currently serving as Regional Manager and Consultant at the Organización de los Estados Americanos since September 2019, Mauricio focuses on transboundary water governance, hydric security, and NDC best practices in Latin America and the Caribbean, with an emphasis on gender and interculturality. Previous consultancy roles include developing an action plan for climate-induced migration at OIM - ONU Migración and various environmental and hydric projects with CARE, the Council of the European Union, and the Canadian International Resources and Development Institute. Mauricio holds a Master's degree in Anthropology with a focus on Andean studies and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, along with a specialization in gender-focused policy development from the Organización de los Estados Americanos.
