Melissa Cossio

Melissa Cossio has a diverse and extensive work experience in various legal roles. Melissa began their career in 1997 as a Legal Intern at Estudio Olaechea, where they gained experience in corporate, IP, regulatory, and labor practice. Melissa then worked at Estudio Jorge Avendaño Abogados as a Legal Intern in their Tax Practice. In 2001, Melissa joined NPG Abogados as a Legal Associate. Melissa later became a Legal Advisor at Jurado Nacional de Elecciones, where they worked in the Bureau of Legislative Affairs. In 2007, they joined the Organization of American States as a Legal Consultant in the Department of Legal Services. Melissa's next role was at ProInversión Perú as a Legal Advisor in the Office of Legal Affairs. Since 2009, they have been with Organización de los Estados Americanos, holding various positions including Senior Attorney, Acting Director, and currently, Director of the Department of Legal Services. Melissa'scareer has demonstrated a strong focus on legal expertise and leadership.

Melissa Cossio holds a Summa Cum Laude Law degree from Universidad de Lima, which was obtained from 1995 to 2001. Melissa later pursued a LL.M. in Corporate Law at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas from 2002 to 2003. Melissa then completed a Post-graduate degree in Public Procurement Management from Universidad de Lima between 2004 and 2005. Lastly, they obtained an LL.M. in Government Procurement Law from The George Washington University Law School from 2006 to 2007.
