Michael McKenzie

Team Lead Station Architecture at Oriental Consultants

Michael McKenzie has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Starting in 1997, they worked as an Assistant Researcher at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, University of Dundee. Michael then transitioned to becoming an Architect at Sinclair Watt Architects in 1999, where they worked until 2006. During this period, they also held the position of Senior Architect at jmarchitects, working on various projects including conservation refurbishment projects and winning a bid for the £450m Hull BSF program. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as an Architect at Surface Architects, followed by a role as an Architect at Robin Partington Architects from 2011 to 2012.

In 2012, McKenzie joined Mott MacDonald as a Senior Architect, where they worked until 2018. In this role, they were involved in a multi-disciplinary railway infrastructure project in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Michael'sresponsibilities included space proofing, detailed design, and supervision consultancy for three underground stations.

Continuing their career in architecture, McKenzie became the Director/Owner/Architect at architectureoffice.wordpress.com in 2012, a position they still hold. Additionally, they worked as a Station Architect at PCKK from 2019 to 2020, focusing on the MMSP Subway Project and design management for two stations, as well as serving on the GC Review Team for 12 underground stations.

Most recently, starting in 2020, McKenzie has been working as the Team Lead Station Architecture at Oriental Consultants.
