Oriental Energy Resources Limited
Oriental Energy Resources Limited (OERL) is a privately held indigenous oil and gas exploration and production company with a primary focus on Nigeria. Created in 1990, the company is a founding member of Nigeria's local upstream oil sector through the Indigenous Concession Programme and Local Content Capacity Building Policy. Oriental Energy Resources operates the EBOK oil field which hit first oil in April 2011, flagging off commercial production. By 2022, the Ebok asset had produced a cumulative production volume of 90 million barrels attributable to aggressive production, process optimization efforts, and best reservoir management practices coupled with successful deployment of emerging technological solutions. Oriental Energy Resources Limited is owned by Alh. (Dr) Muhammadu Indimi, OFR, who also founded Oriental Okwok Limited and Oriental 115 Limited. Each company controls an asset, and 344 km2 of 3D seismic data have been acquired over all three assets to date, yielding a broad spectrum of development and exploration opportunities. As a supporter of the Nigerian domestic oil industry, OERL adheres to strong ethical EHSS policies and is a considerable contributor to the empowerment of our local host communities. The producer is particularly focused on supporting the development of the next generation of Nigerian Petroleum Engineers and enhancing local technical capabilities.
