David Berliner

David Berliner is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in finance and strategy within the clean energy and climate technology sectors. Currently serving as VP of Strategy and Finance at Origen, David leads these functions following a significant Series A funding round, focusing on the deployment of carbon removal technology. David also holds advisory roles at e-Zinc and Third Derivative, where mentoring and advising on commercialization and project finance are key responsibilities. Previous positions include Head of Deal Structuring at Vancity Community Investment Bank and Cofounder and CEO of CoPower, where David was instrumental in promoting impact investing and financing clean energy projects. David’s early career involved roles at Inerjys and various leadership positions within the Canadian solar energy community. David holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Toronto.
