Weston Jones

Weston Jones currently serves as the Director of Preconstruction & Planning at Origis Energy, starting in March 2024. Previously, Weston held multiple positions at RES from February 2018 to February 2024, including Project Manager II for the Faraday Solar project (683 MWdc) and Pre-Construction Manager overseeing over 2 GW of solar projects through various preconstruction stages. Other roles at RES included Assistant Project Manager for Hickory Park Solar + BESS (195 MW) and Project Engineer II for the Galloway (250 MW) and Hardin (150 MW) solar projects, as well as Project Engineer for Southern Oak Solar (160 MW). Early in the career, Weston worked as a Mechanical/Civil Field Engineer for the Project Ivory Solar (50 MW) and as a Technical Writer at Weiler, where assembly manuals were developed using Solidworks and AutoCad. Weston began professional training as a Civil Engineering Intern at the Marion County Secondary Roads Department. Weston earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University and an Associate of Science from Kirkwood Community College.
