Ganesh Kumar Mothukuri has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and teaching. Ganesh Kumar is currently employed as a Senior Scientist at Orion Biotechnology and as a Research and Teaching Fellow at the University of Geneva, starting in 2021. Prior to these roles, they worked as a Scientific Collaborator at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 2016 to 2021, where they developed state-of-the-art chemical technology for generating macrocycles libraries and designed, synthesized, and screened macrocycles against various therapeutic targets.
Before joining EPFL, Ganesh completed their PhD at IISER-Pune (Indian Institute of Science Education and Research-Pune) from 2010 to 2016. During their PhD, they studied the conformational behavior of naturally occurring vinylogous amino acids and discovered novel structures in smaller peptide sequences. Ganesh Kumar also gained expertise in multi-step organic synthesis of special amino acids.
Ganesh began their career as a Lecturer at V.S. Lakshmi Degree College for Women from 2008 to 2009. In this role, they conducted theory classes, trained students for laboratory experiments, and mentored them in science projects.
Ganesh Kumar MOTHUKURI received a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry from Andhra University in 2006. Ganesh Kumar then pursued a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from the same institution, completing it in 2008. Following this, Ganesh pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, from 2010 to 2015.
In addition to their formal education, Ganesh Kumar MOTHUKURI obtained a certification in "Project Management Simplified" from LinkedIn in December 2022.
