Sanjaya Amarasinghe

Sanjaya Amarasinghe has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Sanjaya started their career as a Trainee Software Engineer at B Sharp Technologies, where they developed an LDAP Login module for healthcare applications. Sanjaya then worked as a Manager and Lecturer at UserMax Technology for five years.

Following that, Sanjaya worked as a Freelancer under their own company, My Own, from 2011 to 2021. During this period, they gained experience in various projects and roles.

In 2014, Sanjaya joined Sysco LABS Sri Lanka as a Software Engineer. Over the years, they progressed to roles such as Senior Software Engineer, Associate Technical Lead, and Technical Lead. Their responsibilities included providing engineering leadership to teams, participating in design and code reviews, planning and driving projects for timely delivery, and mentoring team members. Sanjaya successfully delivered projects like Pricing Transformation and Enterprise Reports.

Currently, Sanjaya is employed as a Senior Software Engineer at Orion Health, starting in 2023.

Sanjaya Amarasinghe pursued their education in a sequential manner, with a focus on computer science and software engineering. From 1999 to 2007, they attended Bandaranayaka Central College in Veyangoda, where they studied subjects such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Information Technology.

Following their secondary education, Sanjaya enrolled at the University of Colombo School of Computing, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science. This educational journey lasted from 2009 to 2014.

To further enhance their knowledge in the field of software engineering, Sanjaya then joined the University of Westminster in 2014. Sanjaya completed a Master of Science (MSc) program in Advanced Software Engineering at this institution, concluding their studies in 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Sanjaya Amarasinghe also obtained several certifications to strengthen their expertise. Sanjaya became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate through Amazon Web Services (AWS) in November 2021. In January 2018, they obtained the Certified ScrumMaster® certification from Scrum Alliance. Furthermore, in June 2010, Sanjaya became a Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) for the JAVA 2 Platform, Standard Edition 5.0, granted by Sun Microsystems.
