Thomas Van Speybroeck

Thomas Van Speybroeck has a diverse work experience in the field of biosciences. Thomas started their career in 2011 as an apprentice at KU Leuven, where they worked in the Laboratory of Biosignaling & Therapeutics under the supervision of Dr. Silvia Jansen. In this role, they gained valuable experience and developed skills in the field of life sciences.

After completing their internship, Thomas joined UGent - VIB in 2011 as a Laboratory Technician in the Cytokine Receptor Lab. Here, they played a crucial role in drug discovery projects and contributed to the development of a drug discovery platform for small molecule protein-protein interaction modulators.

In 2016, Thomas joined Orionis Biosciences as a Senior Research Associate. In this position, they specialized in the development of new drugs for autoimmune diseases and cancer. Apart from their research responsibilities, they also managed the laboratory, handled purchases and logistics, and maintained contact with sales representatives and service providers.

Thomas Van Speybroeck earned their Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from AP Hogeschool Antwerpen, which they attended from 2007 to 2011. In 2022, they studied Foods, Nutrition, and Wellness Studies, General at the Evening Education Center.
