Joey Battaino

Director Of Communications & Broadcasting at Orlando Solar Bears

Joey Battaino has held various roles in the field of communications and broadcasting within the sports industry. Joey began their career in 2009 as a Radio Broadcaster and Assistant to the Director of Communications for the Flint Generals Hockey Club. Joey then worked as the Director of Broadcasting for the Michigan Warriors Hockey Team from 2010 to 2013, while also serving as a Sales and Marketing Representative from 2011 to 2012. Joey later joined the Odessa Jackalopes Hockey Team as the Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting from 2013 to 2015, where they provided play-by-play for all radio broadcasts and facilitated press releases. Joey also worked as a Color Commentary for NJCAA Men's and Women's Basketball at Odessa College in 2014. In 2015, Joey joined the Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club as the Vice President of Communications and Broadcasting, where they provided play-by-play for all games, hosted a monthly coaches' show, and managed press releases. Joey then served as a Play-by-Play Broadcaster for the Grand Rapids Griffins on a fill-in basis in 2021. Currently, Joey is the Director of Communications and Broadcasting for the Orlando Solar Bears, a position they assumed in 2022.

Joey Battaino began their education in 2004 at L'Anse Creuse High School, where they completed their high school diploma in the field of Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication in 2008. In 2008, they enrolled at Specs@LTU, where they pursued a degree in Video Arts with a focus on Radio and Television Broadcasting. Joey graduated from Specs@LTU in 2009.
