Melinda Guerra has extensive experience in emergency medical services and training, currently serving as a Training and Compliance Supervisor at Orleans Parish Communication District since January 2022, after previously holding the role of Training Specialist, QA/QC, Paramedic. Prior to this, Melinda worked at New Orleans EMS from August 2003 to April 2016 as a Paramedic and Communications System Status Manager. Additionally, Melinda gained experience as a Paramedic at Riverside Urgent Care from April 2014 to April 2015. Melinda holds an Associate of Science degree in Paramedicine from Delgado Community College and has further education from Southeastern Louisiana University.

Orleans Parish Communication District
Formed in 1982, the Orleans Parish Communication District is the PSAP for all emergency communications via 9-1-1 within Orleans Parish. The agency employs over 150 individuals and provides emergency medical dispatch, emergency fire dispatch, and emergency police dispatch for the millions of annual visitors and residents of the City of New Orleans. OPCD is a member of the Association of Public Safety Communication Officials (APCO) and the National Emergency Number Association (NENA).
