Lindsey Hortenstine has held various roles throughout their career. Lindsey started working at Liz Lapidus Public Relations in 2005 as an intern and was quickly promoted to assistant and then to publicist. In January 2007, they became a senior publicist and the second-ranking employee in the company. In 2007, they joined Belladonna Day Spa as a lead retail therapist and key holder, where they managed daily operations, led a team, and oversaw inventory and ordering. In 2009, they joined Orleans Public Defenders as the Conflict Division office manager. Lindsey later became the Director of Communications and Development, focusing on improving communication within the organization. In 2010, they briefly worked as Vice Marketing at New Orleans.

Lindsey Hortenstine attended Louisiana State University from 2000 to 2004. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations.

OPD is a community-oriented defender office built upon that zealous defense of the poor and indigent while acknowledging the strengths of clients, families and communities. Established in 2007, OPD represents nearly 20,000 court-appointed clients each year.
