Stephanie Colin, MA, is currently serving as the LEP Coordinator and Crimmigration Client Advocate at Orleans Public Defenders since July 2022. Prior experience includes teaching Spanish from August 2018 to July 2022, and roles as an education coach at La Jolla LearningWorks and in college consulting at Hamilton College Consulting. Additionally, experience as a Graduate Assistant at LSU Executive Education occurred from August 2015 to May 2016. Stephanie Colin holds a Master of Arts in Hispanic and Latin American Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English and Spanish from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Most recently, Stephanie Colin earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Communication and Media Studies, specializing in Critical Rhetoric and Performance Studies, from Louisiana State University in August 2023.

The Orleans Public Defenders Office (OPD) aims to provide the citizens of Orleans Parish and each eligible client with the highest quality, client-centered legal representation in Louisiana's criminal justice system - zealous, conscientious, caring, professional, ethical and skilled - whether in criminal, municipal or traffic court. OPD is a community-oriented defender office built upon that zealous defense of the poor and indigent while acknowledging the strengths of clients, families and communities. Established in 2007, OPD represents nearly 20,000 court-appointed clients each year.
