John Akerley

John Akerley, P.E. is an accomplished engineering professional with a strong background in resource operations and numerical research. Currently, John serves as Manager of Resource Operations at Ormat Technologies, Inc. since September 2012, where previous roles included Sr. Resource Engineer and Resource Engineer. Prior experience includes a Research Assistant position at the University of Nevada Reno, contributing to a Department of Energy project focused on heat transfer augmentation, and a Graduate Appointment at Argonne National Laboratory, where research involved computational fluid dynamics and high-performance computing. Earlier roles include a Quality Engineer at Firth Rixson, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, and an Engineering Intern at Globe Turbocharger Specialties, Inc. John holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno.
