Clément Courade has a diverse work experience in various engineering and design roles. Clément is currently working as a Mechanical Engineer at ORPC since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Daher for six years, starting as an Apprentice Design Engineer from October 2015 to September 2018, where they were involved in 3D modeling and organization of drawings. Clément then transitioned to the role of Design Engineer from October 2018 to September 2021, where they worked on the development and detailed design of aircraft structures.
Clément also has experience as a 3D Printing Engineer at BCN3D Technologies for a brief period in October and November 2017, where they conducted tests on 3D printing filaments and optimized printing parameters. In addition, they worked as a 3D Designer at MyMiniFactory from May to August 2017, creating 3D printable content and generating marketing materials through photography and graphic design.
Prior to these roles, Clément gained experience as an Assistant Mechanical Engineer - Apprenticeship at Dassault Aviation from September 2014 to September 2015, focusing on defect management and analysis of composite parts. Clément also worked as an Industrial Designer at Flex-On Stirrups in 2013, where they were involved in the development of a safety product for horse riders.

Clément Courade obtained their Baccalauréat in STI Génie Electrotechnique from Lycée ICBF in 2012. Clément then went on to complete a BTS CPI in Conception des Produits Industriels at Lycée Jean Dupuy from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, Clément pursued further education and completed a Licence Pro en alternance in Ingénierie de la Conception et Prototype at IUT Paul Sabatier (Tarbes) from 2014 to 2015. Finally, from 2015 to 2018, they attended CESI Ecole d'Ingénieurs where they obtained a Diplôme d'ingénieur in Formation Généraliste. In November 2017, Clément also obtained a TOEIC certification with a score of 930/990 from ETS.

ORPC
ORPC power systems generate baseload renewable electricity from rivers and tidal streams without impounding or restricting the flow of water in any way. ORPC’s RivGen® Power System is in its fourth year of operation in the remote community of Igiugig, Alaska. When this project is completed in 2023, ORPC power systems will combine with batterystorage and a smart microgrid controller to form Igiugig’s local microgrid, moving the existing diesel generators to a back-up role, and enabling the community to turn off its diesel generators between 60% and 90% of the time.Over 700 million people globally rely on highly-pollutive diesel generators to meet their electricity needs, and an additional billion people do not have access to electricity at all. ORPC’s integrated solution in Igiugig is a replicable model for remote communities around the world. With outreach from over 42 countries about the RivGen Power System, ORPC will deploy its first power systems in Canada and Patagonia, Chile, over the next 12 months. Based in Portland, Maine, ORPC also has offices in Anchorage, Montreal and Dublin, and an affiliate in Punta Arenas, Chile. Its 37-member staff has the capability to handle every aspect of the project development process from site assessment to permitting to installation and post-installation maintenance.
