Kalpa Perera

Kalpa Perera has a diverse work experience in various roles related to cybersecurity and cloud solutions. From 2014 to 2016, they worked at Virtusa as an Associate QA Engineer, where they gained knowledge in data loss prevention, endpoint protection, and SIEM solutions. They also introduced automation for testing and defect management, improving productivity.

From 2016 to 2020, Kalpa Perera worked at MiHCM as a Regional Cloud Solution Specialist, managing a team and overseeing Cloud project implementations. They collaborated with the engineering team to develop Azure DevOps processes and conducted risk assessments, including API authentication and integration testing.

In 2021, Kalpa Perera joined TryHackMe and Hack The Box as a CTF Player. They conducted mapping and analysis of application attack surfaces and explored security vulnerabilities using various tools. They developed knowledge in ethical hacking, InfoSec tools, and Identity & Access Management (IAM).

In 2021, Kalpa Perera also worked at Bugcrowd as a Security Researcher, where they configured and developed a penetration testing lab and developed practical knowledge in penetration testing tools such as Nmap, Nessus, and Burp Suite.

Currently, Kalpa Perera is an Associate Cyber Security Analyst at Orro Group, starting in 2022.

Kalpa Perera completed a Master of Information Technology degree in Cloud Computing & Cyber Security from Charles Sturt University, from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, Kalpa Perera obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems (B Sc. (Hons)) from University College Dublin, from 2012 to 2015. Kalpa Perera's high school education was completed at St.Joseph's College, Colombo, focusing on Commerce, from 2004 to 2011. In addition to formal education, Kalpa Perera has obtained several certifications in various cybersecurity and IT-related fields from institutions such as Qualys, eLearnSecurity, EC-Council, INE, LinkedIn, Udemy, TryHackMe, and Hack The Box.
